The parade will leave the Irish World Heritage Centre at 12 noon and will finish at Albert Square around 1pm.
The Irish World Heritage Centre held their first St Patrick’s Day Parade on the 17th March 1990 when the members paraded to St Chad’s Church and attended a Mass celebrated by Fr. McGarry before returning to the Centre. The Longford Association were the first to display a parade banner of their county. Now all 32 counties are displayed throughout the parade.
Over the years we have had members of the Irish Government walk with us, including the Taoiseach of Ireland Bertie Aherne, and Ministers, Brendan Smith and John O’Donaghue.
Tens of thousands of people turn out to line the route of the parade to revel in the party atmosphere and join in the celebrations.

What our Members say:
Going to a music festival was one of my ‘bucket list’ activities to try. Admittedly I had something like Glastonbury in mind but when I saw a local music festival on the calendar I signed up straight away. I had a lot of fun. Thanks for a great time. Julie.
I have never been to a murder mystery party, and wasn’t sure whether it was my cup of tea but I was roped into it by other members. It was a fun evening with plenty of laughs. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. Pete.
