Every year more and more clothes and textiles are being thrown away, most of which could be worn again. An average household owns £4,000 worth of clothes, 30% unworn in 12 months.
There are many ways to re-use clothes from donating, swapping, updating, buying upcycled, vintage and second hand.
In partnership with Junk Shop, Recyle For Greater Manchester are offering free sewing classes across Greater Manchester.
In the class you will make your very own 'sew-skilled' shopper- where you will learn how to hem, applique, patch and much more. Bring along an item of clothing for advice and information about how you can upcycle it, using your new sewing skills and support from the experts at Junk Shop.
