The Edinburgh Fringe is the most popular and spectacular event in the UK and surely the most anticipated on the calendar. With shows galore, and with other festivals including the Edinburgh Tattoo, and the Edinburgh International Festival featured, you get 5 festivals in 1. Staying in prime City Centre location for 3 nights with breakfast and evening meals included, imagine exploring one of the most beautiful cities in the world...in the middle of the biggest festival in the world with your every need catered for. And to add a genuine flavour, your guide for the weekend (should you need one) will be an authentic Scotsman. There's really no way better way to spend your Bank Holiday weekend. The Edinburgh Festival has been voted the number one tourist experience in the UK according to readers of the Rough Guide series. Mark Ellingham, series editor and Rough Guides founder, said: “When we think of holidays, a lot of people immediately associate this with going abroad. But, believe it or not, you don’t actually have to jump on a plane to have an amazing time.” The city itself is perhaps the most beautiful and historic in the country and during this time, it comes alive in a hybrid of activity - street stalls, comedy shows, street parades and musicians galore. It's impossible for there not to be entertainment that will have you laughing, singing, and dancing along and in a city that I dare you not to fall immediately in love with. Enjoy the buzz of the world’s favourite Festival city and a weekend of theatre, opera, dance, and music from the world’s greatest artists. You will have the chance to explore the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This unique experience has everything to offer within a party atmosphere. Soak up the evening of the Fringe with the spectacular backdrop of the illuminated Castle. As well as the Fringe itself, you shall also the opportunity to explore the following: The Edinburgh Tattoo The Edinburgh Tattoo is the most spectacular show in the world, enjoyed by an international television audience of 100 million. But there's no substitute for being there, as part of the 217,000-strong audience over its three-week season on the Esplanade at Edinburgh Castle who don't simply watch the show but become a part of it. Edinburgh Comedy Festival Edinburgh Comedy Festival is the largest comedy festival in the world! In 2008 over 500 shows were part of the first Edinburgh Comedy Festival, and 2009 promises to be even bigger! No city comes alive quite like Edinburgh during the Edinburgh Fringe. Believe me...you really won't want to miss out. So book now before you see our amazing photographs on the website and regret your decision not to go. Edinburgh International Festival The Edinburgh International Festival presents a rich programme of classical music, theatre, opera and dance in six major theatres and concert halls and a number of smaller venues. Edinburgh Book Festival The Edinburgh International Book Festival began in 1983 and is now a key event in the August Festival season, celebrated annually in Scotland's capital city. Biennial at first, the Book Festival became a yearly celebration in 1997. Throughout its 25-year history, the Book Festival has grown rapidly in size and scope to become the largest and most dynamic festival of its kind in the world. In its first year the Book Festival played host to just 30 'Meet the Author' events. Today, the Festival programmes over 700 events, which are enjoyed by people of all ages. Accommodation is rare and at a premium as this is the biggest weekend in the Edinburgh calendar and hosting the BIGGEST festival in the world. We have been lucky enough to secure a fantastic almost penthouse type apartment in the heart of Edinburgh – next to the main street Princes Street and all the major attractions, for your convenience. Staying in an fantastic centrally-located shared apartment allows you to appreciate the Social side the Fringe Festival has to offer, right on your doorstep. Cost includes 3 nights premium accommodation with full English breakfast, and evening meals. “It was my first visit to the Fringe and it's hard to put into words just what a fantastic time I had. The variety of entertainment is second to none and the quality is brilliant throughout. Staying in accommodation right in the heart of the Fringe only served to make the experience that more special. I met some fantastic people too and can't wait to go back next year.” James, Chorlton Weekends away are great social occasions and are always more fun as part of a group. It's a great way to meet new people so don't worry if you are coming on your own. We will be car sharing up and down so lifts won’t be a problem if needed. Expected to sell out fast!
