Are you up for the challenge? Are you up for some fun?
Have you climbed Ben Nevis? Scafell Pike? Snowdon?
The National 3 Peaks Mountain Challenge is one of the UK’s most well known outdoor activity events and attracting many people every year.
Climbing the breathtaking Three Peaks is something each of us should do in our lifetime. And with a professional guide leading the way, accommodation, meals and FREE transport provided, we have taken away every possible excuse you could give to put off the challenge you were born to take. You can also be rest assured that in full tradition of Social Circle, we'll be combining the action the only way we know how...with fun all the way. We're expecting you to up for the challenge but we're not expecting Olympic standard either. We won't be doing anything stupid, like attempting to do it in 24 hours but instead over the course of a weekend whilst socialising with the group and putting the emphasis on FUN! With climbing in the day and camp fire chats and wine/beer at night, we'll take on the challenge as a group. Meet new people, make new friends, and discover yourself on the greatest peaks of them all. A chance of a lifetime to have fun whilst achieving a truly great milestone.
Package includes a professional guide and three guided climbs up the three biggest mountains in the UK, accompanied by fantastic scenery. Breakfast, evening meals, and packed lunches provided.
FREE Transport also included so no need to worry about travelling up and down the UK, spending an obscene amount of money on petrol. You'll find the luxury minibus will make your journeys relaxing and even okay for a nap.
Staying in such glorious surroundings would be a partially wasted experience in the confines of indoor accommodation so to enhance the togetherness and in true outdoor spirit, we'll be camping over at both Ben Nevis (Fort William) and Scafell Pike. We'll be camping very near to the base in order to get an early start and to keep that spirit intact, we will all be sharing the same tent. So if anyone has any ghost stories, then would be the time :)
Itinerary
Friday
Leaving early Friday afternoon in minibus where we will then head north to Scotland, where we will stay over at Fort William.
Saturday
Bright and early start with breakfast, then we'll be getting ready to climb the landmark that is Ben Nevis. The Ben 1344 m over 4400'
Then being the pro-active group we are, we'll drive over to the Lakes to set up and have a night in front of the fire ))))
Sunday
Another early morning will see us getting ready to climb Scafell Pike. Scafell 978m over 3200'
Following that, we shall drive to Snowdonia where we will climb the last of the peaks, spectacular Snowdon. Snowdon 1085 over 3500'
Ben Nevis
Ben Nevis, or the 'Ben' as it is fondly known locally, sits majestically at the head of Loch Linnhe, its presence dominating the landscape from all corners of Fort William and some parts of Lochaber.
Awash with superb scenery, highland culture, clan history, lochs and rivers, fresh clean air, unspoilt beaches, castles and quiet country roads, here is Scotland at it's very best!
Those who have seen the popular films of Braveheart, Rob Roy and Highlander will be familiar with Glen Nevis; scenes from each of these films were shot right here.
Take a camera with you and start snapping those breathtaking views as you go up!
Scafell Pike
The fantastic views are amongst the best England can offer and of course the achievement at the end of it all is particularly satisfying. We'll be going at a time of year when we can expect good weather conditions to appreciate it all for there is no doubt that the walk is so much better when you can see the fantastic sights this landmark has to offer.
Snowdon
Snowdon rates amongst the most beautiful mountains in the world. Whichever direction you approach it from the size and grandeur impresses. Its starfish shape radiates six magnificent ridges each with their own special and individual characters. The deep cwmoedd (glaciated valleys) range from the easily accessible to hanging valleys only reached by complicated scrambling.
This mountain has everything from the rarest flowers and insects to ruined mines, from fascinating volcanic rock formations to fossils on the summit.
The distance walked is around 25 miles, the height climbed is around 11,000 feet, and the distance to be covered between the mountains is some 450 miles!
How fit do I have to be?
Important: Although we're not aiming to make it as rigorous as other organisations who offer the same or a similar challenge, it is still an intense task that we aim to complete within a weekend so we do ask you to ensure that you partake in regular exercise and have a good-high level of fitness. Please take this on board!
Will my accomplishment be recognised?
You shall also receive a commemorative certificate celebrating that you taken on the challenge of climbing The Three Peaks.
Testimonial
“Climbing Snowdon was a great experience not only for the adrenalin rush and the spectacular scenery but doing it as part of a group who were all there with the intention to socialise made it that much more fun. If the excitement is going to three times as much as it was at Snowdon, I really can't wait for The Three Peaks Challenge.”
