The Great CityGames Manchester brings world class athletics to the city’s streets.
The event takes place on the Great CityGames track on Deansgate in the heart of the city and at the purpose built athletics arena in Albert Square.
The Great CityGames Manchester provides a unique opportunity to see top athletes from across the globe compete in an urban environment.
Many of the greatest athletes in the world have graced the track including Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake, Jess Ennis and Greg Rutherford.
The event is part of a great weekend of sport in Manchester, which includes the Morrisons Junior & Mini Great Manchester Run, also on Saturday and the Morrisons Great Manchester Run, Europe’s biggest 10k.
A crowd of 20,000 traditionally gathers to see some of the world’s greatest athletes compete, including Olympic, World Championship and European Championship medallists.
This exciting event is bringing athletics out of the stadium and into the streets, giving fans the opportunity to get close to the action - and best of all it is completely free to spectate and no tickets are required.
