The new play from In Bruges writer Martin McDonagh is broadcast live by the National Theatre. Following a successful run at London's Royal Court Theatre, BAFTA-winning writer Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths) returns to the West End with this award-winning production of his hilarious new play Hangmen, broadcast live to cinemas by National Theatre Live. The play focuses on Harry Wade (David Morrissey), England's second-best hangman, after the abolition of capital punishment in 1965. The critics have raved about The Hangman. "The funniest play in London right now," wrote Time Out, while The Daily Telegraph called it "the best new play of the year". "Gripping, funny and dramatically tense," was The Sunday Times' verdict, while The Independent said that it was "drop-dead hilarious".
