Organic Artisan Bread

This ever-popular 4-hour artisan breadmaking class with Cracking Good Food’s resident baking expert Rob Tomlinson is brilliant value for money and covers all the basics of three types of bread. You’ll master how to make the perfect 100% organic loaf, delicious garlic naan breads and aromatic focaccia topped with onions, rosemary and crystal salt and stuffed with olives and sundried tomatoes.

You’ll also enjoy a lunch of pizza and salad, made from scratch during the session.

Rob is a very experienced artisan breadmaker and is keen to share his knowledge and tips. He crams plenty into this busy session but there’s always time for questions. By the end of the four hours you’ll know just how satisfying it is to make your own bread – not only are homemade loaves cheaper, tastier and healthier than the shop-bought stuff, they fill your house with the delicious smell of baking! You’ll leave with lots of fabulous bread to take home – and a skill that will last you a lifetime.

This session is suitable for all levels of experience, from absolute beginners to those wishing to further develop their skills.

All ingredients are organic and bought locally at Unicorn Co-operative Grocery and other local independent shops.

Feedback from previous bread sessions:
Jennifer – great session. Rob is clearly passionate and that came across. Good to talk about practical bread making as well as artisan bread.
Chris – enjoyed making a basic loaf, fascinated by the difference between a supermarket bread and home made artisan bread. The science behind bread making.
Leanne– loved learning about different flours and mixing to give different breads.
Simone – really good to cover the different bread making methods. Also the information ablout the flour and other ingredients was useful as this would not be included in ordinary cookbooks.
Laraine – enjoyed working with others – expert guidance-building up confidence by knocking down some breadmaking myths
Astrid – all of it was fantastic, to try so many recipes for doughs, brilliant to go home with fresh home made breads. Rob’s knowledge made everything accessible.
