The Manchester Literature Festival is here and tonight we'll be enjoying one of the more interesting nights on their calendar. Some come and meet some new Manchester friends...literally! 
Finalists from the Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Oldham, Bolton, Wigan and Hebden Bridge heats come together to do battle. The winner chosen by the audience and our panel of celebrity judges will receive a £250 cash prize, and get their hands on the Dike Omeje Slam Champion Trophy. It promises to be a vibrant night, full of twists, turns, spills and metaphorical leaps. All the performers have beaten off keen opposition to win their own heats. Who will be primer inter pares? Who will rise to take the crown? Not a performer? Not a problem the Slam is a fantastic spectator sport, so come along to unwind after a hard day in the office and help us crown the 2009 Northern slam champion!
Greenroom is Manchester's centre for new extraordinary performances: they support artists by providing resources and a safe space for the creation of new, experimental and contemporary performance.
