Trip to Liverpool to see “The Real Thing: Contemporary Art from China
About
You don’t have to know anything about art, it’s just a good excuse for a day out! We’ll walk through Liverpool to the Albert Docks where the art gallery is situated, and naturally we will visit various watering holes after viewing the exhibition, to mull it all over.
The exhibition - “The Real Thing: Contemporary Art from China” - reflects the varied and complex nature of contemporary art in China, and presents a comprehensive overview of some of the most interesting and important art to be made since 2000. Simon Groom, Head of Exhibitions at Tate Liverpool, says "Shanghai and Beijing today are like Paris and New York in the 19th and 20th centuries". The exhibition features work by eighteen artists, in a variety of media, and includes several "wow"-looking large-scale installations.

You can buy tickets in person at the gallery (£5 / £4 concessions).
