Handmade Social is a Sunday social for like-minded people in Manchester to share creative skills, no matter how basic, in a friendly setting. 
There’s a new demo each fortnight, which is a way to learn great skills from a professional at a really low cost, as well as having a go before buying all the kit or committing to a course. The basic skills you can pick up in an afternoon can be enough to help you customise your home or your wardrobe, or they might inspire you to learn more and become a specialist maker yourself.

"I'm in my mid 40s; an age when handmade was a necessity, rather than just a hobby. I can knit, sew and have done classes in stained glass and jewellery making in the past. I heard about the sessions whilst trawling round various craft sites and craft notice boards and liked the idea of learning something new and having some handmade stuff to show off to my mates and at work (people are always so jealous when you can make stuff!)
The cost on the day is £2.50, payable on the door.
