Overview: A once-in-a-lifetime trip including transfers to hotel, mountain guides and porters, meals during the trek and 15 nights accommodation, leaving 15th October.
Social Circle are offering you the chance for an achievement of a lifetime by climbing the highest mountain in the world it continues to lure adventurers as ever, and is still the most popular trek in Nepal. Starting with an exciting flight to Lukla, this classic walk penetrates right into the Sherpa homeland of Solu Khumbu with a clear cut aim to see the magnificent form of Everest. This region is famous not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain, but also for its beautiful breathtaking views, sacred Monasteries and hard working, friendly Sherpa people. The trek itself climbs to 5,550 metres passing through a number of small villages, sampling their hospitality and culture in the comfortable tea-houses along the way. It is a demanding trek, however with the support and guidance of the world’s best guides and mountaineers it is a very achievable and fulfilling journey.

Adventure Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive in Kathmandu, to be met at the airport by the AdventureX Group Leader. The evening to relax, have dinner in one of the fine restaurants and a pre-trip briefing.
Day 2:
Free time in Kathmandu to explore this amazing city. From observing early morning sessions of prayer wheel turning at the Buddhist Stupa of Bodhnath, to gaining a glimpse of the Living Goddess in Durbar Square, there are endless things to see. Or if you fancy a bit of retail therapy check out the multitude of shops selling branded fleeces and good quality merchandise.
Once you are prepared for your trek, finish the day with a relaxing cold drink in one of the many terrace cafes whilst the sun starts to go down on the distant snow-capped Himalayan Mountains.

Day 3:
Start of the expedition. Fly to Lukla 2840m and gentle walk to Phakding (2610m). Trekking time approx 4 hours.
Day 4:
Walk from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m) - the administrative centre of the Khumbu region. Trekking time approx 5 hours.
Day 5:
Acclimatisation day in Namche Bazaar. Day hike to Khumjung (3780m) and our first views of Mt Everest.
Day 6:
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengpoche (3867m). Opportunity to visit the famous Tengpoche Monastery and take in the fantastic views, especially in the morning time. Trekking time approx 5 hours.
Day 7:
The longest trekking day, from Tengpoche to Dingboche (4410m). Trekking time approx 6 hours.
Day 8:
Acclimatisation day in Dingboche before we head upwards towards Everest Base Camp.
Day 9:
Trek from Dingboche – Labuche (4910m), our final full day before we reach Everest Base Camp. Trekking time approx 5 hours.
Day 10:
We leave Labuche for the final trek up to Everest Base Camp (5346m). After time to walk around and exlpore Base Camp and and soak up our achievement we then descend back down to Gorak Shep (5160m). Trekking time approx 4 hours.
Day 11:
We leave Gorak Shep for our final, but rewarding, challenge as we climb once again and atop Kala Pathar Peak (5550m), which provides a stunning vantage point for viewing Mt. Everest & Mt. Lhotse, Nuptse & Mt.Pumori with Everest Base Camp resting on the edge of the Khumbu glacier below us. We then begin our descent, trekking back down to the village of Periche. Trekking time approx 7 hours.
Day 12:
Today head back down through the villages we passed enroute to Everest Base camp, stopping back at the village of Namche Bazaar. Opportunity to visit the Sherpa Museum, explore Namche Bazaar and pick up Himalayan Souvenirs. Trekking time approx 4 hours.
Day 13:
Walk back to Lukla. We celebrate our last night in the mountains. Trekking time approx 6 hours.
Day 14:
Morning flight back to Kathmandu, then ½ day free time for a well deserved chill out in the sun, sight seeing or retail therapy.
Day 15:
Sightseeing around Pushupatinath, Shwayambhunath Temple Darshan & Kathmandu Valley.
Day 16:
Free time in Kathmandu, transfer to airport for flight home.

The cost is £1250 for members and £1300 for non-members, with a £200 non refundable deposit with the remainder payable 3 months before departure.
Flight prices vary from £450 upwards and can be booked nearer the time, or simply make your own way there, whatever suits you.
This event will increase by £40 after 31st March.
