Greater Manchester and the North West has so much to offer for someone looking to get away for the day and see somewhere new.

This new group - Daytripper will get out and explore the North West just for the day. Meeting at a central Manchester station and depending on the final destination, we will take the train or tram to a local attraction, city or beach within 2 hours of Manchester City Centre.

Our first day trip will be to the East Lancashire Railway in Bury. The line is over 12 miles long and runs between Heywood and Rawtenstall, with intermediate stations at Bury, (4 miles from Heywood) and Ramsbottom, (8 miles from Heywood). We will join the line at Bury and travel up in the authentic train carriages of yesteryear into the picturesque landscape of East Lancashire.

We aim to be back in Manchester for around 1600 with a stop off for lunch in Rawtenstall. Alternatively, why not bring a packed lunch? This event is combined with the Photography group, so bring your camera along and get some great pictures of the preserved trains and stations.

The cost of going on the steam railway is £12.

Book now as this event limited to a maximum of 10 people.

Steven your host will TEXT you on the day telling you where he is and what he's wearing at Manchester Victoria so you'll have his number just in case you're running late or want him to meet you outside first.

Any further drinks or food are additional and payable by you.

Over 20 FREE events per month with membership. And all for just £1.99 a week.
