**14 days notice for bookings as subject to numbers & availability**
A taster day is a great day out in the hills and is universally enjoyed even if the participant decides not to continue his/her paragliding career!
As paragliding is very weather dependant they cannot guarantee the progress made, but given reasonable conditions you will accomplish solo flights up to around 20 feet above the ground - all under the control of your instructors.
-
10am: Welcome and intro talk, sign up to the BHPA (British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association) which is inclusive of cost.
-
11am: Allocation of kit, walk/drive to the site
-
11.30am: Introduction to the equipment, daily checks, instructor launch demos etc
-
12.30pm: Your turn! Clipping in, inflating the glider, keeping it overhead, how to land.
-
1.30pm: Gradually moving up the slope to low level flights, gradual increase in height as the weather/group dictate.
-
Finish time is dependent on group fitness/weather. Usually 5-6pm.
The course fee includes all equipment, one-day mandatory BHPA membership and tuition. All you need to bring is a packed lunch and suitable outdoor clothing including some reasonable, ankle supporting boots and gloves.
BHPA. This is obligatory as it gives you third party insurance. We do include the cost of this in our taster course but not for other courses as there are several membership options depending on your circumstances and aspirations.
Here are the usual BHPA fees and more about them.
Steve your host will TEXT you on the day telling you where he is and what he's wearing so you'll have his number just in case you're running late or want him to meet you outside first.
Over 20 FREE events per month with membership. And all for just £1.99 a week.
