Manchester's Northern Quarter is one of the most unique districts of Manchester city centre.

Hungry Pigeon was the talk of Manchester last year and undoubtedly Manchester's biggest city centre festival being the only Manchester festival nominated for the UK Festival Awards. In our inaugural year in 2009 they were nominated in the Metropolitan Festival Category going against longer established events such as Liverpool Sound City and Camden Crawl

With an incredible schedule of live music from 150 bands, plus live art, poetry, short films, U18s events, art exhibitions, busking and even its very own Northern Quarter art treasure trail, HUNGRY PIGEON really does have something for everyone! It is spread over 20 venues around the Northern Quarter, and also features a massive outdoor stage in the heart of Manchester City Centre – Piccadilly Gardens!!

Backed by Manchester City Council and Marketing Manchester, Councillor Mike Amesbury, Executive Member for Culture and Leisure for Manchester City Council said: "This is a brand new festival for the city and we are proud to be supporting the new and upcoming talent involved"
