Hope Valley circuit
Length: 8.7 miles
Duration: 3.5h excluding stops
Difficulty level: 2
Transport: train from Manchester Piccadilly to Hope (£9 return)
A beautiful day out in the Peak District on a circular train walk starting in the charming village of Hope. We’ll climb Lose Hill (a short steep climb) which offers beautiful views of Ladybower Reservoir and Stanage Edge. We’ll then follow the old Roman road and descend to Edale Valley through Nether Booth, which will bring us to the second steep climb of the walk, up the picturesque Back Tor. The entire Hope Valley and Castleton can be seen from here and the rocks on Back Tor offer an amazing backdrop for photos. We’ll follow on to Lose Hill then and descend down to hope for a well deserved pint and a train back to Manchester.
Please bring: good walking boots, comfortable trousers (no jeans), waterproof, fleece, hat, sunscreen lotion, packed lunch, water, tea/coffee.
Kasia your host will TEXT you on the day telling you where she is and what she's wearing so you'll have her number just in case you're running late or want her to meet you outside first.
