An exciting and exhilarating mountain day Scramble up Tryfan 915m (3002') in North Wales, led by a fully qualified instructor. Referred to as 'the mountain with the face' we will start in Ogwen valley and weather permitting scramble up the north ridge.

There are no long walk ins to get to this mountain as soon as we leave the car park we are at the start! The route is one of North Wales classic scrambles and is a classified grade 1 with 3 star rating.

Scrambling is the art of moving together up a rock ridge or series of boulder ledges to achieve the final goal of the summit. There will be occasions when we will have to scramble up using our hands and other times when we will be moving up sections of paths. You will need a good head for heights and be reasonable fit and flexible to be able to move up the mountain comfortably.

It is a thoroughly enjoyable experience and will certainly appeal to thrill seekers who would like to try this out and equally to people who have already tasted the delights of scrambling but perhaps have not as yet conquered the north Ridge of Tryfan.

At the top we will meet Adam and Eve who guard the summit but are friendly enough to kindly visitors. From the top we might be rewarded with magnificent views of the valley far below and as far as Anglesey. Our descent will be over the other side of the mountain towards Bwlch Tryfan and eventually back to the car park.

If we are unable to achieve the north ridge due to weather conditions then we will move over to Heather terrace which cuts diagonally up on the east side of the mountain and comes out on the north Col close to the summit.
