An afternoon of Dim Sum tasting with some new food lovers.
A very flexible afternoon in terms of the menu items. There'll be a cart/trolley system whereby the food is pushed around the restaurant for you to select at your leisure. This makes things very accessible, in terms of being able to see what you are ordering to compliment the menu!
The host will take the lead and order some of the most typical dishes, including har gau, siu mai, cha siu bun, all of which are served in bamboo steamers and in little bitesizes which make them ideal for communal dining. There are various bits of etiquette that you will find interesting, and you will also be given the background on the cuisine itself (from the occasions to the ingredients etc).
A few things to note about the nature of dim sum:
* vegetarians will unfortunately have a limited choice in terms of dim sum
* the meat will not be halal
* there is a prevalence of pork in many of the menu items
Tai Wu is famed for its world of fine Cantonese cuisine in the elegant surroundings of their beautiful restaurant in Manchester City Centre and is the ideal host for this tasting session.
The cost is £12 per head including soft drinks.
Jen your host will TEXT you on the day telling you wheres she is and what she's wearing so you'll have her number just in case you're running late or want her to meet you outside first.
