Edale - Hayfield - New Mills Transport: public transport (linear walk), Wayfarer train ticket (£10) Distance: 11 miles, 5h Difficulty: 3 (steep ascent) From Edale train station we will follow the Penine Way to Upper Booth and then cross Edale Valley and climb Brown Knoll, which is a part of the Great Ridge and offers beautiful views of the valley below. We will then cross Brown Knoll and follow the western arm of the Ridge down to the pretty village of Hayfield where we will stop for a hearty Sunday lunch. After wards, to walk it off, we will follow the Sett Valley Trail (a disused rail track now open for leisure use) for approx 2.5 miles to the breathtaking traverse of the Millennium Walkway near the New Mills Central station for the train back to Manchester.
