Edale - Hayfield - New Mills
Transport: public transport (linear walk), Wayfarer train ticket (£10)
Distance: 11 miles, 5h
Difficulty: 3 (steep ascent)

From Edale train station we will follow the Penine Way to Upper Booth and then cross Edale Valley and climb Brown Knoll, which is a part of the Great Ridge and offers beautiful views of the valley below. We will then cross Brown Knoll and follow the western arm of the Ridge down to the pretty village of Hayfield where we will stop for a hearty Sunday lunch. After wards, to walk it off, we will follow the Sett Valley Trail (a disused rail track now open for leisure use) for approx 2.5 miles to the breathtaking traverse of the Millennium Walkway near the New Mills Central station for the train back to Manchester.

Kasia your host will TEXT you on the day telling you where she is and what she's wearing so you'll have her number just in case you're running late or want her to meet you  first.

Kit list: warm clothes, walking boots, gaiters (Brown Knoll tends to be boggy), waterproof and windproof jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, water/tea.
