Don't worry if you're coming on your own - so is everyone else! Single or Married? Chorlton or Bury? Doctor or Plumber? 28 or 48? No problem! Ensuring you have a great time is what we do!

Learning how to navigate using a map and a compass will open up whole new areas of the UK to you.  You will be able to explore more of our amazing upland landscape and safely leave the beaten track to find new and interesting places to visit.

This one day navigation course will show you the basics of map reading and navigation in the hills.

We will take you on a journey from the village of Hayfield, Derbyshire (30 mins from Manchester city centre) up onto the Kinder Scout Plateau.
Our route will take in some interesting features including some aircraft wrecks, remote moorland and a variety of flora and fauna.

We are accredited course providers for the National Navigation Award Scheme (www.nnas.org.uk).  Because this one day course follows the award syllabus, you can come back later for an assessment and achieve the bronze award.

If you feel that you already have some navigation experience and would like to learn more, we can accommodate this too.  Our flexible approach means that you can learn at your own pace and develop your existing skills.

The course starts at the village of Hayfield and includes at least 6 hours tuition.
Maps and compasses are provided.  You will need to bring warm clothing, waterproof jacket and trousers, walking boots and a small rucksack with a packed lunch.

Don’t worry if you have never done anything like this before, our friendly instructors will put you at ease in no time.

To find out more about us and the course go to www.daveascough.co.uk or email info@daveascough.co.uk

This course is normally £70 per person but is being offered to Social Circle members at the much reduced rate of £40.
