Getting there by public transport: if you dont have a car please take 23 or 84 bus from Didsbury or 85/86 bus from city centre; you can also take the Metrolink to St Werburghs Road and walk across to Barlow Moor Road (approx. 400m) Meeting (arriving by car): 10 am Mersey Valley Visitors Centre car park M33 2LX Meeting (arriving by public transport): 9:30am your host will be waiting at Hardy Lane/Barlow Moor Road crossroads

Bike Ride from Dunham Massey from Sale Waterpark by bike

Distance: 17miles

Dunham Massey has been an important place since mediaeval times when it acted as a seat for the Massey barony. It still contains 45 listed buildings, one of which is the beautiful Georgian Dunham Massey Hall. With large grounds, pretty houses in the surrounding village and free roaming deer in the park (they are not scared of people at all!) it is definitely worth a visit.

We will cycle along the Transpennine Way from Sale Waterpark to Dunham Massey, stop there for a tea break and a spot of sightseeing then pedal back along the Bridgewater Canal for a well deserved Sunday lunch at another Georgian building, the Jackson’s Boat pub.
