Grade 2 or 3 one steep hill climb. Walk over moorland

Pendle Hill is well know for 3 things, The Pendle Witch trail Ricard Towneleys barometer experiment and the clamied uisitation of George Fox which led to the foundation of the Quaker Movement.

It is well associated with the Witch's Trail in 1612 where 7 women and 2 men where hanged at Lancaster Castle  for the crime of murder by Witchcraft, more recent a 17th cottage complete with a cat skelton was unearthed in the shadow of Pendle Hill ( going to find this and walk to it in the walk ).

We will meet and begin the walk in the village of Barley, where we will walk to Brown House and Pendle Hill before the climb up Pendle Hill, where from the top of Pendle Hill we will be able to see the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Then we will desened Pendle Hill and head towards Upper Odgen Reservoir and then the woodland part of the walk next to Lower Odgen Reservoir. Then we head towards Newchurch In Pendle where there is supposed to be a witch's grave in the church yard and then we head back towards Barley and the cars. Sunday Roast will be at the Pendle Inn which offers good honest Lancashire food and ales

Kit list: walking boots (not trainers), walking trousers (no jeans please), warm clothes, hat, gloves, waterproofs, tea flask, packed lunch
