In the near future, America's deadliest criminals are confined in a giant, orbiting space prison. During a visit by the President's daughter, Emilie (Maggie Grace), a riot breaks out and the inmates seize control of the facility. Now the government needs someone to find a way into the impenetrable high-tech jail, take on the marauding thugs and rescue her. The obvious candidate is falsely convicted former government agent Snow (Guy Pearce). Told that his only chance of obtaining freedom is to pull off what seems like a suicidal mission, this loose cannon is fired into space while the nation holds its breath. A sci-fi thriller in the great tradition of 'Escape From New York', 'Lockout' is co-written and produced by action king Luc Besson. It features a charismatic performance from Guy Pearce and a gutsy one from Maggie Grace (of 'Taken' fame).
