Meet Magic Mike (Channing Tatum). He's one of the most popular and successful performers in the world of male stripping - though Mike prefers to describe himself as an entrepreneur working in a cash-based business. The attractions, he explains, are obvious: "women, money and a good time". And now he's teaching awkward young protégé The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) the ropes at the Xquisite club owned by charismatic southerner Dallas (Matthew McConaughey). But when Mike falls for The Kid's sister, Paige (Cody Horn), his profession becomes a complication. He also begins to realise that he wants something more out of life. Steven Soderbergh's latest crowd-pleaser is inspired by, but not based on, Channing Tatum's real-life experiences as a teenage stripper. It also gives the star an opportunity to build on those comedy skills he displayed in '21 Jump Street'.
