Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill from Hurdlow

This beautiful walk with a twist will take us from a village of Hurdlow south of Buxton across some fields, disused railway tracks and rolling hills to Chrome Hill (also known as “the dragons back” because of its stunning rock ridges), a limestone reef knoll dominating the landscape. After climbing it we will climb another stunning remnant of the ancient tropical sea reef, Parkhouse Hill, and return back to Hurdlow for a well deserved pint and a Sunday roast at the award winning Royal Oak.
Kit list: walking boots (no trainers), hiking trousers (no jeans), warm clothes, waterproofs, hat, tea flask, sandwich.
