BRAVE

Director: Mark Andrews, Brenda Chapman

Starring: Kelly MacDonald, Emma Thompson, Kevin McKidd, Billy Connolly, Robbie Coltrane, Julie Walters, Craig Ferguson

Pixar embraces girl power with the magical animated tale of a Scottish princess who makes her own destiny.

Headstrong, flame-haired Scottish Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald) is a skilled horse-rider and archer who loves adventure and has no desire to get married. This proves a disappointment to her mother, loving traditionalist Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). More importantly, her refusal to accept one of the suitors presented by Lords MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane) is a dangerous defiance of age-old custom. After a row, Merida rides off on her faithful steed. Seeking help from an eccentric witch (Julie Walters), she's granted an ill-fated wish that unleashes chaos across the kingdom! Pixar's most daring and sophisticated film to date is its first to feature a female protagonist. It's also the first to have a historical setting. The incredible voice cast is completed by great Scottish comedian Billy Connolly as Merida's father, King Fergus.
