A group of strangers team up for a jewel heist - when it descends into bloodshed, the survivors suspect a set-up. Movies were never the same again after Quentin Tarantino's blistering 1992 debut 'Reservoir Dogs' hit the world's cinema screens. Graphic discussions about Madonna lyrics and the etiquette of tipping entered the popular consciousness, while the film gave iconic roles to Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Steve Buscemi. They play three of the crooks in a colour-coded ensemble who don't know each other's names but definitely have each other's number. Jumping back and forth between the bloody aftermath of a botched diamond robbery and the events leading up to it, Tarantino's non-linear style and pop-culture savvy became immediately apparent, shaking crime cinema to its very core. Savagely funny, outrageously violent and featuring a standout performance from Harvey Keitel (who also co-produced), 'Reservoir Dogs' announced the arrival of an exciting new talent in the world of filmmaking.
