Shane Meadows
With his trademark humour and energy, director Shane Meadows presents the fascinating story of The Stone Roses - one of Britain's most influential music groups. The film is a passion project of the director. "Making this film, I got to be part of something truly remarkable," Meadows says, "the double decade awaited 'resurrection' of my all time favourite band." Meadows interweaves archive film, intimate behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen material, delivering the definitive account of the band and their music. He was also granted unprecedented access to their rehearsals for the summer 2012 Manchester concerts. A momentous occasion in modern music, these were the first gigs performed by The Stone Roses in 16 years. The film's premiere is broadcast live in Cineworld on 30 May. Fans will be able to send questions to Shane Meadows live from cinemas around the country via Twitter.
