Tour Description:
A Go Canoeing Explore Family tour is a leisurely-paced tour that takes time to explore the environment, taking in the wildlife, scenery and architectural heritage. They’re ideal if you have little or no canoeing experience and provide a great way to take some time out, absorb your surroundings and enjoy the freedom of being on the water.
Route Name:
Salford Quays Dock Tour
Enjoy this area once famous for its docks, steeped in industrial history. Salford Quays has been completely transformed into an iconic destination with famous landmarks such as The Lowry, The Imperial War Museum North, and now Media City. This area was used in 2002 for some of the events such as the Triathlon during the Manchester Commonwealth Games. This tour follows a lovely circular loop, therefore the start and finish will be in the same place requiring no car shuttles to be made.
Swimming Ability:
All participants taking part in Go Canoeing tours MUST wear a correctly sized buoyancy aid at all times. Therefore participants do not have to be able to swim to take part, but must be confident in open water wearing a buoyancy aid and the clothing they will be wearing whilst participating.
Competency Level:
No previous canoeing experience is necessary to take part. All participants need to be comfortable with the physical requirements of being in a boat for two hours duration and physically fit enough to climb back into a boat, with assistance, if they were to fall out.

Boat Suitability: All boat/craft types welcome.
Age Restrictions: Minimum age 8, All U18’s have to be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Maximum of three U18’s per adult.
Equipment Required: Boat, buoyancy aid and paddle.
