You may have spent up on your christmas parties and gifts but couldn't resist saving a little for the January sales.
And even if you haven't, a little window shopping never hurt anyone :)
We'll be having a good gander at the shops along Market Street, King Street and inside The Arndale centre. And we'll no doubt stop for a drink along the way.
Chic treats
Uptown girls (and boys) will head for King Street, a short but very sweet thoroughfare that’s been a place for prestigious retail therapy since the 19th-century. Splash the cash at Vivienne Westwood, where you’ll find all the ultra-distinctive clothes and accessories you’d expect from the queen of quirkiness. Or go cutting edge at effortlessly cool DKNY. If you’re feeling super-flush, indulge in the delights of elegant European tailoring at Armani Collezioni/Emporio Armani. For all you footwear lovers head to DUO. They specialise in handcrafting boots in 21 calf sizes and shoe sizes in five widths, to offer you effortless style AND an incomparable fit. Drop down a gear with a scout around Zara and French Connection on New Cathedral Street, before heading for the familiar and comforting aisles of Manchester’s flagship Marks & Spencer store.
Shopping spree
Head for the Manchester Arndale Centre, a double layer of renovated loveliness stuffed to the rafters with big names and like Top Shop and the biggest Next store in the world. Or there’s The Triangle on Exchange Square, a beautiful old corner building that once housed the Corn Exchange. This is a mecca for smart shopping, housing designer icons like adidas Originals, Karen Millen and Calvin Klein. Looking for posh lippy? Peruse the pristine white shelves of Space NK. Back on New Cathedral Street you’ve the double delights of Harvey Nichols and Selfridges, slap bang opposite. And, if you’ve still not sated by your department store habit, head for Heal’s.
Harvey Nichols in New Cathedral Street is for budget-blowers: squeeze your tootsies into a Jimmy Choo, Miu Miu or Marc Jacobs, or visit Kurt Geiger in Exchange Street. Jones Bootmaker in King Street has a good men’s range, while Ran in St Ann’s Square has fabulously individual styles. Try Shelleys in Market Street for stylish high-street feet.
As with all Social Circle events, you will be greeted by one of our friendly hosts, who will make you feel welcome and relaxed and have you settled in in no time. Then socialise and network with like-minded professional people, whilst having fun in a stress-free environment.
The fee for this event is £7.50.
