Pott Shrigley Walk
We don't have to go far afield to find lovely English countryside to walk in and this walk is just that.
Our route will take us up to Bow Stones, high above Lyme Park where we'll descend through Bowstonegate into the park itself (although bypassing the house and gardens) and out through the lesser known West Parkgate.
Definitely a few hills, but not mountains ("high above" is this week's clue, "Lyme Park" is a false and misleading mermaid of a clue).
So boots rather than trainers, but bring some to change into for the return journey - it's always appreciated when car sharing (and by pub landlords).
Depending on numbers, we could then retire to The Vale pub in Bollington which was well liked after a recent walk, or to The Windmill at Whiteley Green.
Total distance is about 10 miles, but with options to shorten it on the day if the weather's not great and that's what people feel like.
Kit list: hat, gloves, warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers, walking trousers walking boots as may be slippy tea flask.
