Starring

Jonny Lee Miller, Benedict Cumberbatch

Danny Boyle's acclaimed production of Mary Shelley's gothic classic makes a triumphant return to Cineworld. Victor Frankenstein (Benedict Cumberbatch) conjures up new life from body parts in his laboratory. But his grotesque, bewildered Creature (Jonny Lee Miller) is cast out into a hostile world, meeting with cruelty wherever he goes. In between directing the Oscar-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire' and overseeing the breathtaking opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, Danny Boyle returned to the theatre for this magnificent production. It's got amazing set design and evocative music by Underworld. But Boyle's masterstroke was to alternate the roles of Frankenstein and the Creature between his two stars. Benedict Cumberbatch, aka TV's Sherlock Holmes, and Jonny Lee Miller of 'Trainspotting' fame deliver two quite different yet equally astonishing performances. These were recognised when they shared the 2012 Olivier Award for Best Actor. Now this landmark 2011 production returns to Cineworld as part of the National Theatre's 50th anniversary celebrations.
