Starring

Forest Whitaker, Alan Rickman, Alex Pettyfer, Cuba Gooding Jr., David Oyelowo, James Marsden, Jane Fonda, John Cusack, Lenny Kravitz, Liev Schreiber, Mariah Carey, Minka Kelly, Oprah Winfrey, Robin Williams, Terrence Howard, Vanessa Redgrave

Forest Whitaker leads an all-star cast in the rousing story of a White House butler who witnesses history being made. In 1920s Georgia, young Cecil Westfall loses his parents as the result of the brutality of cotton plantation owner Thomas Westfall (Alex Pettyfer). He is then taken in by Thomas's mother Annabeth (Vanessa Redgrave). As an adult (Forest Whitaker), Cecil finds hotel work in Washington DC and marries Gloria (Oprah Winfrey). In 1957, he's hired as a White House butler during the administration of Dwight D. Eisenhower (Robin Williams). Over the next 34 years, he serves eight presidents. This provides him with a front row seat at some of the most momentous events in 20th century American history, from Vietnam to the civil rights movement. Forest Whitaker gives a towering central performance in 'Precious' director Lee Daniels' powerful fact-based film. Watch out for the incredible supporting cast playing US presidents!
