Miracles occur and destinies collide in this enchanting romantic fantasy starring Russell Crowe, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Connelly. In a mythic New York city during the cold winter of 1916, burglar Peter Lake (Colin Farrell) breaks into an expensive property. He's surprised to find it occupied by a beautiful young woman named Beverly Penn (Jessica Brown Findlay). They begin to fall in love, but Beverly is suffering from a terminal illness. Peter is also being hunted by his former boss, sinister crimelord Pearly Soames (Russell Crowe). But when Soames corners him, something astonishing happens. He then learns of his destiny with the help of Virginia Gamely (Jennifer Connelly). This magical tale of enduring love is the directorial debut of Akiva Goldsman, Oscar-winning writer of 'A Beautiful Mind'. It's adapted from the acclaimed novel by Mark Helprin. 'Downton Abbey' star Jessica Brown Findlay makes her Hollywood debut amid an all-star cast.
