Last year over 50,000 people enjoyed the sunshine and watched the parade as it snaked its way through the city centre. Some 2,400 people participated in the parade, including 90 Manchester charities, community groups and companies that brought alive the theme, ‘Wish You Were Here’, with a captivating carnival atmosphere. A host of fantastical creations and captivating stories delighted the crowds.
The theme of Manchester Day 2014 is ‘Going Global!’ which is set to inspire a host of diverse and creative ideas from participating groups. The theme has many meanings which will result in a dazzling array of costumes, structures and performance.
