Join the Award Winning Wandering Duck on a relaxing and fun canal boat experience as they cruise from Marple to Congleton through beautiful Cheshire countryside.
Have a go at steering and working the locks, enjoy home-cooked food, pub stops, and optional activities. This is perfect for those new to canal boating as it’s a fully hosted but hands-on experience.

Start Point: Lockside, Marple, Manchester, SK6 7BJ – 6PM*
Finish Point: Macclesfield Canal, beside Congleton Train Station, Congleton, Cheshire. CW12 3DE – 4pm
*If you can’t make the 6pm start time let us know; you may be able to join the boat later on!
We recommend taking the train to Marple on Friday and then getting the train back to Manchester from Congleton. We moor a short walk from the train stations at both ends of the tour.
If you plan to drive just let Social Circle know and we will organise a shared minibus or taxi from Congleton to Marple on Sunday afternoon (at own expense).
