A helicopter pilot embarks on a hazardous mission to rescue his daughter after a huge earthquake strikes the California coast. All hell breaks lose after California's famous San Andreas fault gives way, triggering a earthquake that is so huge its repercussions can felt on the opposite coast of America. After the earthquake strikes, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake, it's up to helicopter rescue pilot Ray (Dwayne Johnson) to reunite with his estranged wife Emma (Carla Gugino) in order to rescue their daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario). To do so, they are forced to embark on a treacherous journey north from Los Angeles to San Francisco, unaware that the worst of nature's fury is still yet to be unleashed. Scripted by Carlton Cuse (Lost) and directed by Brad Peyton, who previously worked with Johnson on Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, San Andreas promises big natural disaster-inspired thrills in 3D and features a supporting cast that includes Kylie Minogue, Ioan Gruffudd and Paul Giamatti as a doom-mongering scientist.
