The Lowry Hotel in association with Maggie’s Cancer Support Centre and Cheshire Life is proud to host a unique costume ball on Saturday 4th March 2017 at The Lowry Hotel between 7.00pm till 1.00 am.
Join us to recreate history and raise funds for people affected by cancer. This event is based on one of the region’s most glamorous historic events from 1828 where generous philanthropists of the North West attended an extravagant costume ball to raise money for local charity. Prominent citizens at the 19th century celebration included the Lord Mayor, MPs, industrial magnates and the Home Secretary Robert Peel. The scene was captured by artist Arthur Perigal and is a social record of the ‘cream of Manchester society’.
Tickets include entertainment, a three course dinner, DJ, disco, singer, raffle and auction and are £99 per person.
Dress code : Period Dress
The event is being supported by The Royal Exchange Costume Department which cover all historical periods. A reduced rate is being offered of £45 for hire of a costume which includes all accessories, boots and hats.
Guests are also welcome to attend the event in their own period dress.
