John Alker premieres a new release: Manchester at the Movies, exploring the city’s rich film and theatrical past: from Judy Garland to Jude Law; from George Formby to Viktor Frankenstein, with some bank robbers, parole officers, Shakespeare and Shane Ritchie. Visit the theatres, locate the film sets, soak in the stories.
