Come and join in, it’s absolutely FREE! Here at Social Circle we make it our business to offer you the best of what Manchester has to offer. Our selection of walks enable you to to come along and explore this great city, and meet new people in Manchester along the way.
Romantic, erotic, sensual, passionate, brooding, wild, windy and wuthering. And that’s before you’ve even joined the walk.
Haworth, a tiny moorside village in West Yorkshire, is one of the most famous literary locations in the world, thanks to Emily Bronte’s disturbing 1845 novel, Wuthering Heights.
On the 200th anniversary of the birth of Emily Bronte we explore delightful, quaint and charming Haworth and its environs, a dark landscape of brooding hills, windy moors and melancholy valleys that so inspired Emily and her two brilliant sisters, Anne and Charlotte, both renowned novelists, and continues to mesmerise poets and performers, from Kate Bush to Patti Smith.
Join us on a mooch around the village and a quick sneak onto the moors of Bronte Country, home of Heathcliff and Wuthering Heights, before it gets “dark and lonely, on the other side”.
* This is a long one, ending at the Wuthering Heights pub natch.
* Best bring walking boots.
The tour is led by Ed Glinert, one of the official guides and joint founder of New Manchester Walks.
