SOLD OUT - Three Peaks Challenge - Climb the UK's Highest Mountains for Charity - This is done over an entire weekend so dont worry if your not an athlete!

Social Circle have teamed up with Bowel Cancer UK in this exciting opportunity to  enter the UK's premier Challenge event! Walk the UK's highest summits in one weekend - Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon (Wales). The challenge comprises in excess of 11,000ft. of climbing and totals over 20 miles of walking. With over 500 miles of driving you will certainly see the 'length and breadth' of the country this weekend.

The 3 Peaks Challenge sets you the task of climbing, walking, trekking over the the three highest peaks in each of the home nations in Britain. The Social Circle Challenge is planned with the same experience and care that goes into all of our UK and worldwide adventure expeditions. Our climbs of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon are professionally conducted, and fully backed up by qualified first aid trained leaders. We want you to succeed in this UK Mountain Challenge by reaching all three of the mountain peaks with safety! (Whatever the weather,)

The National 3 Peaks Mountain Challenge is one of the UKs most well known outdoor activity events and attracts many people every year.

Climbing the breathtaking Three Peaks is something each of us should do in our lifetime. And with guides leading the way, accommodation, meals and transport all provided, we have taken away every possible excuse you could give to put off the challenge you were born to take. You can also be rest assured that in full tradition of Social Circle, we'll be combining the action the only way we know how...with fun all the way. We're expecting you to enjoy the challenge but we're not expecting Olympic standard. We won't be doing anything to ambitious, like attempting to do it in 24 hours but instead over the course of a weekend whilst socialising with the group and putting the emphasis on FUN! With climbing in the day and camp fire chats at night we'll take on the challenge as a group. Meet new people, make new friends, and discover yourself on the greatest peaks of them all. A chance of a lifetime to have fun whilst achieving a truly great milestone.

Package includes: fully guided walks to the three peaks mountains, transport throughout. All meals, including breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals in restaurants/pubs.

You'll find the luxury minibus will make your journeys relaxing and even okay for a nap.

Staying in such glorious surroundings would be a partially wasted experience in the confines of indoor accommodation so to enhance the togetherness and in true outdoor spirit, we'll be camping over at both Ben Nevis (Fort William) and Scafell Pike. We'll be camping very near to the base in order to get an early start and to keep that spirit intact.

Itinerary

Friday

Leaving early Friday morning in minibus where we will then head north to Scotland, where we will stay over at the base of Ben Nevis in Fort William. Once all tents erected we will have dinner at a local restaurant.

Saturday

Bright and early start with breakfast, then we'll be getting ready to climb the landmark that is Ben Nevis. The Ben 1344 m over 4400'

After a bit of lunch we will be heading over to The Lake District where we will eat our dinner in a local restaurant then set up camp for the evening.

Sunday

An early morning will see us getting ready to climb Scafell Pike. Scafell 978m over 3200'

Following that, we shall drive to Snowdonia where we will climb the last of the peaks, spectacular Snowdon. Snowdon 1085m over 3500'

After completing our fantastic achievement we will pop open the bubbly and celebrate with a jar of the local ale.

Ben Nevis

Ben Nevis, or the 'Ben' as it is fondly known locally, sits majestically at the head of Loch Linnhe, its presence dominating the landscape from all corners of Fort William and some parts of Lochaber.

Awash with superb scenery, highland culture, clan history, lochs and rivers, fresh clean air, unspoilt beaches, castles and quiet country roads, here is Scotland at it's very best!

Those who have seen the popular films of Braveheart, Rob Roy and Highlander will be familiar with Glen Nevis; scenes from each of these films were shot right here.

Take a camera with you and start snapping those breathtaking views as you go up!

Scafell Pike

Scafell Pike is one of a horseshoe of high fells, open to the south, which surrounds the head of Eskdale, Cumbria. It stands on the western side of the cirque with Sca Fell to the south and Great End to the north. This ridge forms the watershed between Eskdale and Wasdale, which lies to the west.

Snowdon

Snowdon rates amongst the most beautiful mountains in the world. Whichever direction you approach it from the size and grandeur impresses. Its starfish shape radiates six magnificent ridges each with their own special and individual characters.

This mountain has everything from the rarest flowers and insects to ruined mines, from fascinating volcanic rock formations to fossils on the summit.

How fit do I have to be?

Important: Although we’re not aiming to make it as rigorous as other organisations who offer the same or a similar challenge, it is still an intense task that we aim to complete within a weekend so we do ask you to ensure that you partake in regular exercise and have a good-high level of fitness. Please take this on board!

Will my accomplishment be recognised?

As well as raising much needed money for Bowl Cancer UK you shall also receive a commemorative certificate of achievement celebrating that you taken on the challenge of climbing The Three Peaks.

About Bowel Cancer UK

Bowel Cancer UK aims to save lives by raising awareness of bowel cancer, campaigning for best treatment and care, and providing practical support and advice.

About Bowel Cancer

Bowel Cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in the UK, affecting both men and women. Every year more than 37,500 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer and more than 16,000 people die of the disease.

Climbing Snowdon was a great experience not only for the adrenalin rush and the spectacular scenery but doing it as part of a group who were all there with the intention to socialise made it that much more fun. If the excitement is going to be three times as much as it was at Snowdon, I really can't wait for The Three Peaks Challenge.

Sarah, Heaton Mersey

Kit list will be provided nearer the time.

Weekends away are great social occasions and are always more fun as part of a group. It's a great way to meet new people so don't worry if you are coming on your own.

There are a limited number of places available, so we recommend booking early.
