Overview:
Canoe down the Menai Strait in our Canadian 2 person Canoe's whilst taking in some of North Wales most natural wildlife. Fully Inclusive weekend of 2 days, 1 Night Canoeing with our very own barbeque evening meal in front of our self built forest fire. Morning breakfast then back to paddling. All food and equipment supplied from Canoe's, paddles, waterproofs, life jacket and tents with comfortable mattresses and of course our fully qualified guide for 2 days to show us the way. Saturday Midday
A journey by canoe taking us through some of North Wales' most breathtaking scenery and beautiful marine environments.
Our journey will begin on the Menai Strait near Menai Bridge on Anglesey where we will practise the skills needed to paddle our canoes efficiently over the next 2 days.
Together we will journey under historic bridges built by famous engineers, through fast moving tidal waters past places of historic interest surrounded by a variety of marine life, so keep your eyes peeled you don't want to miss anything! But be careful of that moving water! Your guide will look after you. From time to time we will land on shore to explore and investigate our history and ease our curiosity. We can trail fishing lines behind us just in case. Who knows it might be fish for dinner!
We can choose where we want to have lunch there's a pub not too far en route maybe we can get there and have a glass of something? Our destination is still some way off but we have plenty of time to meander out way down the Strait with the ebb tide helping us all the way. At the end we need to make a fire and shelter for our over night bivvy, slap something juicy on the BBQ and settle back with a glass of alcohol cos we deserve it.
As the sun sets we will sit around the fire under the stars telling stories of the fish that got away and listening to natures sun set sounds.
Time and tide wait for no man, so they say, so in the morning we need to reverse most of our trip with the incoming tide to ease us back from whence we came.
Sunday
After our fry up we'll be leaving mid morning to return early afternoon.
Cost includes hire of canoe and paddle, all the necessary safety gear, a guide for 1 ½ - 2 days, morning breakfast, barbecue in the evening.
