Overview
Less than 45min away is the tranquility of the Peak District National Park where we have our Walking Weekend 7th to 9th May with 2 nights accommodation, 2 breakfasts, 2 picnic lunches, 2 evening meals, and 2 fully guided walks Saturday and Sunday and all for an amazing £99, that £33 a day to all members. Exercise in the outdoors while having FUN!
The Peak District & Derbyshire, is world class destination stretching from the dramatic moorland and breathtaking landscapes of Britain's first National Park to the ancient oaks of the National Forest in the south of the county.
With a fascinating historical and cultural heritage, this unique and diverse region is home to some of the country's finest stately homes, enchanting market towns and picturesque villages.
Itinerary
Friday:
Welcome get together with dinner around 8pm.We'll have a bite to eat and then go for a drink at the local pub for a chance to get to know each other better!
Saturday:
A lovely gentle walk in the Peak District around Longshaw Estate and Padley Gorge. The walk takes in a combination of open parkland and moorland, dense woodland and a beautiful steep sided gorge.The Longshaw Estate and Country Park comprises around 1600 acres of woodland, grassland, farmland and moorland owned and maintained by the National Trust. There are great walking opportunities with dramatic panoramas and Padley Gorge is home to many ancient oaks.
Sunday:
After a lazy start reading the papers and having had breakfast we will set off to the forest, moorlands, rocks and stunning views, it's the most beautiful corner of Peak District. We will be taking a lovely walk along the Manifold valley followed by a climb up Ecton Hill.
After the climb we cross high country to Wetton and then we can explore the magnificent Thor's Cave before returning via a woodland descent to our starting point at Wetton Ford.
It’s the perfect way to explore and experience the diverse and unique area, right at the heart of the UK. So why not book a place to stay and recharge your batteries during a relaxing and revitalising short break.

Our fantastic self contained luxury bunkhouse accommodation is set in stunning surrounding passing close by the barn the manifold valley track Tissington Trail and High Peak trail provide easy access to beautiful countryside ideal for walking. Dovedale the Upper Dove Valley and the remote and mysterious moorlands around Flash and Longnor offer stunning scenery for walkers. Fully equipped to provide everything you need for a great outdoors weekend.
I would recommend this trip to anyone as a great way to spend your weekend! This was my first event and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was made to feel relaxed from the moment we arrived at the lodge - everyone was really friendly and genuinely interested in meeting new people. On top of that, the location was beautiful - a definite contrast to the Manchester landscape! I'm definitely glad I went and will sign up on more Social Circle events for sure.

Weekends away are great social occasions and a great way to meet new people so don't worry if you are coming on your own or need transport as more than enough people to car share.
