Meeting at the Frog and Bucket on Oldham St at midday, we will walk along the canal starting at Piccadilly Basin towards Castlefield. There are many great photo opportunities along this route as we look at how Manchester has transformed from being a major industrial centre to one of the best redeveloped city centres in Europe. We will finish our walk just after Castlefield where we will go to Binary Bar, a great place that is a bit of a hidden gem off the beaten track. It is important that you wear appropriate footwear as we shall be walking for about 2 miles. I expect the afternoon to finish for 5pm. Please note that this walk will run if the weather is dry, so let's hope it is sunny!
