A day linear hike leaving from the market town of Glossop in Peak District, via an old Roman track of Doctor’s Gate onto Snake Pass and then to Kinder Scout (2,087 feet; 636 m), the highest point in Peak District and in Derbyshire. This walk includes some of the most spectacular gritstone scenery that Dark Peak area has to offer. We’ll descend to Edale via the picturesque Jacob’s Ladder and have a hearty pub dinner in the Rambler Country Inn in beautiful village of Edale, the starting point of the Pennine Way.
Gear list: walking boots, thick socks, gaiters (parts of the walk may be muddy), comfortable trousers (not jeans), fleece or warm jacket, waterproof jacket, hat, water bottle, lunch/energy bars, day pack. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
