Darwin Tower Walk

Grade 3 no steep hills its flat all the way

On a clear day the Isle of Man and the hills of North Wales can be seen from Darwen (Jubilee) Tower.
The tower celebrated Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897 and to many local people it also celebrated the freeing of Darwen Moor in the previous year
Walk along Turton and Entwistle Reservoir and then woodland for 3 miles, then open moor land to Darwin Tower and follwoing back our route up, back to the cars.
Please note it can be very icey when on the moor land and if it melts wiil be very muddy.

Kit list: Hiking boots (not trekking shoes please), walking trousers (no jeans, or tracksuit bottoms), Gaiters advisable but not essential, waterproofs essential, fleece, hat, gloves, water, flask optional, packed lunch.
