Countryside Camping Weekend in the Lake District
Scafell Pike is the highest peak of England. The summit was donated to the National Trust in 1919 by Lord Leconfield in memory of the men of the Lake District "who fell for God and King, for freedom, peace and right in the Great War". The Scafell Pike walk, and the view from the top, has inspired writers such as Wordsworth, Coleridge, Baines and Wainwright, and on a clear day, you can see the Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the Isle of Man.
Social Circle would like to invite you to a camping weekend at the beautiful Seatoller Farm in the Lake District.
On Saturday we will climb Scafell Pike (10miles, moderate hard) and afterwards head to a pub for a well deserved dinner and a pint. On Sunday we will do a stunning walk near the Castlerigg stone circle (5 miles, moderate) before returning to Manchester in the afternoon.
