Art Workshop with Three Course Lunch
Sean Wood and his Award Winning Laughing Badger Gallery (Best Hidden Gem Attraction, Northern Rail's Tourist Awards) are offering Social Circle members the chance to create their own masterpiece in acrylic on canvas, with a three course lunch and all materials included. There's even a licenced bar to get the creative juices flowing, and a handy train station at Hadfield, home of The League of Gentlemen, forty minutes from Piccadilly, and only ten minutes down the road from the Gallery.
The Gallery is also Sean’s home in the Peak District National Park, in the village of Padfield, and was originally the Old Co-Op opened in 1880. The Gallery is now the ‘only’ shop in the village, built around the cotton mills, where originally there were six or seven shops, three of four pubs and two working men’s club.
Members will have probably seen Sean's Wildlife Columns in the MEN or their local titles, and he was recently made a Fellow of the British Naturalists Association on the same day Sir David Attenborough got his.
Sean caters for everyone at the Gallery, and makes all his guests feel at home, from experts to complete novices, and from big business on their out-of-comfort-zone-team-building days to fairy Princess' on their Hen Party. All of his advertisng as been word-of mouth and people keep going back for more. Sean says, 'My favourite days are when there is an organised group from an organisation like Social Circle, with many of guests arriving as strangers and leaving as friends.
