Total walk distance = 9.5 miles Total Walk Time = 5 hours Grade of Walk = 2 / 3 Walk details = Sunnyhurst Wood was acquired by Public subscription in 1902 to Commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII. We start the walk from the vistor centre which leads upto Roddlesworth Upper Reservoir and then the ruins of Hollinshead Hall from the 18th Century. Then we will be walking thou the Lancashire Moor's which leads us up to Darwin Tower which was built in 1898 to commemotare Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee which on a clear day you can see the Lakes and Blackpool Tower. We then head back to the car's and enjoy a pint and a Sunday lunch at a near by pub the Crown and Thistle, Darwen.
Kit list: hat, gloves, warm clothes, waterproof jacket and trousers, walking trousers walking boots as may be slippy tea flask.
