Due to popular demand, this is a shorter, easier hill walk for those who maybe don't feel ready for the 10+ miles that many of the Social Circle walks can be. But it isn't literally a stroll in the park either. We will start in the village of Rowarth, outside Marple, and taking our time, walk a circular route over the Lantern Pike overlooking Little Hayfield with views across to Kinder Scout, ending up back at the Little Mill pub for lunch.
The length of the walk is such that you probably won't need a packed lunch, but a drink and a snack is probably worth bringing along. We will be walking on fields and paths which can be very muddy so boots are strongly advised. And as car sharing is usual, a plastic bag and a spare pair of shoes for the ride back would be considerate. If you wear jeans and it rains, you'll be cold and uncomfortable, but it's only a short walk so it's up to you...
