Overview: A fun and social weekend with two guided walks round some of the most spectacular scenery the UK has to offer! Walking up Snowdon with a fully qualified guide on the Saturday and a lower level walk on the Sunday and a great time at no extra charge ))
Package includes: Two guided walks, climbing Snowdon on Saturday and a gentler walk on Sunday, two nights accommodation in ensuite bedrooms, full cooked breakfast Sat and Sun mornings, evening meals Fri and Sat, packed lunch for Sat and Sun.
Itinerary:
Friday Arrival dinner: 8.00 pm approx
In the small, rural village of Capel Curig, the Mountain Lodge is perfectly situated, close to the base of Snowdon (and to the local pub!)
We'll have a bite to eat and then go for a few drinks at the local pub for a chance to get to know each other better!
Saturday:
After a Full English Breakfast and briefing from our professional guide, we will set for the base of Snowdon.
Snowdon is at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park and is the highest mountain in England and Wales 1085m or 3560 ft. The area benefits from some of the most beautiful views in all of Britain.
Each year hundreds of thousands of visitors visit the mountain to enjoy its unique presence and share the exhilaration of scaling its slopes.
We will stop for our picnic lunch at the top, before beginning our descent.
When we arrive back at the Lodge, we will enjoy a home cooked meal and a glass or two of wine in front of a real fire, congratulating ourselves on our achievement!
Sunday:
After a lazy start reading the papers and having had a full English Breakfast we will set off straight from the Lodge for a five mile circular walk around the local area surrounding Capel Curig, taking in the spectacular sights of the lake and woodlands.
Nestled amongst spectacular scenery, between a river and a network of mountain footpaths, the lodge is uniquely positioned for outdoor enthusiasts. It has a patio area with fantastic views overlooking a mountain river and waterfall, a large drying room (fingers crossed we won’t need it!) and a welcoming living room with fantastic waterfall views and real fire, perfect for cosying up in after our walk! The Mountain Lodge is comfortable bunk accommodation with ensuite shower and toilet in each bedroom.
Snowdon will be the first of the three peaks we will be climbing over the year and will serve as good preparation for those wanting to undertake The Three Peaks Challenge on 18th – 19th July.
To recognise your accomplishment, you shall also receive a commemorative certificate celebrating that you have climbed one of The Three Peaks.
Please note: You don't have to be planning on taking The Three Peaks Challenge in order to take part in this event.
Weekends away are great social occasions and a great way to meet new people so don't worry if you are coming on your own. We will be car sharing up and down so lifts won’t be a problem if needed.
I've been a member of walking groups before but I wanted to go on a walk with more of a social edge about it and get to know some new people. Outdoors, Fun & Social it's just what I'd been looking.
